The distinctive sound of Pregoblin comes from the colliding minds of Alex Sebley (an ex-member of The Saudis) and Jessica Winter (a producer and writer who has worked with members of Gorillaz and Fat White Family). ‘Combustion’ combines haunting, reverb-heavy production with catchy vocal melodies, a syncopated chord sequence and a funky accompaniment to create a release that works just as well through headphones on the train as it does through speakers on the dancefloor. It’s no surprise that the duo will be bringing their tunes to venues in Brixton and Dalston in March. -Dan Peeke
